Want a Great Hitting Tip?

Take 300 swings a day was the hitting tip offered by Michelle Smith, 2 time Olympic Softball Gold Medalist on one poster I saw.

I've often heard of Major League baseball hitters taking 300 swings a day. "But they're Major Leaguers", I can hear you say. "How do you think they got to be Major Leaguers?" I might answer you back :)

How good to do you want to be? How badly do you want it? How many swings are you willing to take a day? How often are you willing to do it?

I can't give you a much better hitting tip than to memorize a perfect swing into your muscles by taking the repetitions needed to get better and better. It's both the consistency of doing the practice swings daily and the quantity of swings that will get you to where you want to be as a hitter.

Let's start off from where we are and let's see if we can take it to the next level by starting at 50 swings a day, then maybe 100, and who knows you may like your progress so much you might want to take more. If you'd like to only work out 6 days a week and have a day of rest, I'm fine with that and if you can only give me 3 - 4 days a week with 50 swings for each of those days that's still probably 100 - 200 more practice swings than you would've done and that's all this hitting tip is about. This works for baseball, fastpitch softball and slo-pitch softball.

I'm even going to help you with taking 50 swings a day. So let's get started! The first step is to take an inventory of where you are (and with this form you can also see where the average player is), then if you want my help fill out the latter part of the form.
